The 52-4 District Court

Criminal Cases: The 52-4 District Court of Troy administrates both misdemeanor and felony cases. A misdemeanor is defined as a criminal offense punishable by 1 year or less in jail and a felony is defined as a more serious criminal offense punishable by more than 1 year, up to life in prison. This does not include tests by the Michigan State Police or other police agencies with authority in the jurisdiction of Troy. The tests measure for blood alcohol content (BAC) or drugs. The Those testing with a BAC .08 to .16 is grounds to charge for Operating while Intoxicated (OWI). If the BAC is .17 or more, the individual faces being charged with OWI with a High BAC (Super Drunk Driving). Although breath tests are administered exclusively to test for alcohol; blood tests are administered when drug use is suspected or by court order when an accused party refuses to provide a breath, blood, or urine sample.
