Rochester, Rochester Hills, and the 52-3 District Court

Located just west of Shelby Township, on the border of Macomb County, is the City of Rochester. As of 2008, the City had a population hovering around 11,000 people. Rochester’s downtown, located on Main Street, has twenty two buildings that are more than 50 years old. In addition to its history, downtown Rochester is a local hub for fine dining and shopping. The City is also home to a variety of festivals as well. Amongst them include Music in the Park, Dancing in the Streets, and the Art & Apples Festival. Other than its downtown, Rochester is known for its natural splendor. Rochester is home of the Paint Creek Trail. The trial, in addition with Clinton River trail, connects the Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve, Rochester Municipal Park, Stoney Creek Metropark and Bloomer Park.

To the West of Rochester is its much larger neighbor, Rochester Hills. Rochester Hills, as of 2008, is home to 69,014 people. Rochester Hills almost completely surrounds the City of Rochester. Rochester is home of two colleges, Oakland University and Rochester College. The North end of Rochester Hills is known for its upmarket real estate developments.

In addition to Rochester and Rochester Hills, the 52-3 District Court serves Auburn Hills, Lake Angelus, Lake Orion, Addison Township, Orion Township, Oakland Township, and Oxford Township. The Court is presided over by the Honorable Judge Julie A. Nicholson, Nancy T. Carniak, and Lisa L. Asadoorian.
